Serata inaugurale del primo tour ufficiale dei Pink Floyd in Gran Bretagna,
inframmezzato da altre esibizioni "a gettone" sia in patria
sia all'estero. Il gruppo portò in scena materiale presentato
il mese prima al Festival Hall di Londra. Il repertorio rese necessari
alcuni aggiustamenti e come risultato Nightmare ora incorporava Cymbaline,
cui fù aggiunta una sezione comprendente una sequenza preregistrata
in quadrifonia, con rumori di passi e porte che si aprivano e si chiudevano,
diffusa per tutto l'auditorium. Anche The Pink Jungle fù estesa
fino a inglobare una rielaborazione di Pow R Toc H. Come alla Festival
Hall, durante il concerto una "creatura" in costume spesso
girava rumorosamente per la sala.

Derek Jewell descrisse così il concerto: "I quattro Pink
Floyd mescolano voci, chitarre, organo, batteria, vibrafono, trombone,
timpani e gong con effetti elettronici e steroefonici gettati con violenza
nell'arena da una serie di casse e altoparlanti. Suoni da fine del mondo
scuotono l'aria, pesanti passi risuonano intorno alla sala, strane voci
sussurrano, rimbomba il rumore di un treno; è una giungla di
suoni."
I Pink Floyd segarono legna sul palco, qualcuno girò vestito
da gorilla e c'era perfino un cannone che sparò prima che partisse
la bomba di fumo rosa finale.

Questo festival di tre giorni (8-10.8.69) in origine doveva tenersi
in un sito abbandonato nei pressi di Morton Road (West Drayton, Middlesex)
ma il comitato locale non firmò l'autorizzazione. Gli organizzatori
ripiegarono su Plumpton. Sia i gruppi sia gli spettatori persero lo
slancio iniziale quando un blackout di energia elettrica interruppe
l'esibizione dei Soft Machine. Durante l'ora abbondante di silenzio
che ne seguì il pubblico diede segni di agitazione, anche se
quando salirono sul palco i Pink Floyd molti si erano addormentati.

Hilversum 3 Radio stava registrando il concerto per una futura trasmissione
ma poco dopo l'inizio saltò un microfono e la band fù
costretta a suonare solo brani strumentali. Lo show non andò
mai in onda.

Enorme festival all'aperto di tre giorni (13-15.9.69) che offrì
una giornata di blues, una di pop e una di folk. Presidiato pacificamente
dagli Hell's Angels, vi parteciparono oltre 3.000 persone, malgrado
i forti acquazzoni che si abbatterono nella zona. I Pink Floyd si esibirono
nella giornata del pop. Incuranti delle condizioni meteorologiche, furono
accompagnati da un suggestivo light show.
